Introduction
The Department of Economics was established in May 2015. The Department is currently running different programs including BS and MS in Economics and having highly qualified PhD faculty members.
The Department has passed out three batches of BS, Seven of MSc and three batches of MS/MPhil. It is proud to mention here that the passed out graduates of all batches are now serving different organizations inside and outside Pakistan, while some are pursuing their higher studies. We further hope that the Department will prosper and achieve the desired goals in near future.
- The Economics Department is nationally recognized for the quality of faculty scholarship and
for the heterodox character of its curriculum, which allows examination of issues from a
variety of perspectives. - Faculty are engaged in regional economics projects and students are involved in community-
based learning endeavors through well-established placements. - International exchange is supported for faculty and students alike.
“In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn.”
- The mission of the Department of Economics at Bacha University consists of three
interrelated components: providing the highest quality instruction to our undergraduate and
graduate students, conducting leading-edge research in economics, and providing leadership
and service to our professional communities. As a unit in a major land-grant university, we
are committed to excel in all three components of our mission. - The Economics Department helps students think critically about the economic issues they
confront in their daily lives, and develop a commitment to be actively engaged with policy
issues in local, national, and global communities. - The Economics Department provides students with preparation in economic concepts and
techniques within a liberal arts environment, the Department has strong interdisciplinary
links with other departments and programs, and The Department’s broad range of
perspectives provides benefits to those programs as well as to its own students.
